Pay It Forward

Pay It Forward Good Deed Project:

One of the wonderful things about Girls Scouts is teaching our girls how they can be active in their community. Knowing that the girls can make a difference in a small way can help strengthen their commitment to help building a better place to live in.

The project I have come up with for the girls to do is a PAY IT FORWARD project.

Each of girl in my troop will receive 3 tokens. Once they have successfully done their good deed for someone, they may pass on a token to that person. Each girl must do three different deeds and have three different people in mind.

Each person receiving the token must then do a good deed for someone as well. This will be you! Once you have, please pass this envelope and the token onto the person you have done the good deed for.

Please if you could, fill out the form below by simply emailing me your information or you can send it to me via postage. What a great project this would be for the girls to see that just ONE nice gesture can spread to make the difference for so many people.

Thank You
Kiley Rodrigues-Leader

Snack List is Up!

Just to let everyone know that snack list is up. We have 17 girls currently in our troop. I always say bring extras just in case though. Also, in the past we have always provided drinks as well. Small water bottles, juice boxes, capri suns are all welcome. There are *NO* food allergies at this time in our troop.

Here are some healthy ideas for snacks:

* Yogurt (cups, or the kind that they drink)
* Apple Slices
* Fruit bowls
* Applesauce
* Gold Fish
* Crackers and Cheese
* Raisins
* Homemade Trail Mix
* Cereal

Do you have some great ideas that I haven't posted. Love to hear from you!

Field Trip to Stop N' Shop

The Brownie Troop finished up their unit on "Eat Right, Stay Healthy" by taking a trip to the Stop N' Shop here in Johnston. The kids had a good time learning about the different food groups from Vegetables and Fruits, to Dairy and Grains. Our tour guide Miss Kelly was really nice to give the girls a tour of the store and Mr. Ari the store manager even provided fun coloring books and snacks at the end for the girls. I definitely will be keeping them in mind for future field trips and other community projects. Here are a few pictures of the girls enjoying their afternoon at the store.
